The numismatics collection contains 712 pieces many of them of exceptional quality. Among them are more than 200 pieces of Greek and Roman origin which constituted the main fund of the collection of King Carol I, but the sovereign also came into possession of some rare examples of Wallachia and Moldavia numismatics from the 15th century.
